For most companies and institutions, data collection is a somewhat arbitrary, statistics-focused practice, highlighting sedentary information (like demographics) rather than retaining an active analysis of what engages or helps educate their audiences.

Information is often categorized in ways that abstract it from how we actually function or think, and as a result, we are left with an inability to peer through the statistics and see the potential. We're surrounded by data, and yet we still don't have the information we want.
